My $10 Treasure

Image
I got this buffet cabinet at a thrift store for $10!  We had to remove the sides and the back of the cabinet because of water damage. Went to home depot and bought new plywood, measured to fit and nailed it into place. Once the new backing and sides were added to the cabinet I was able to sand and prepare for paint.     I bought this piece because I liked the details on the doors. I rolled on primer paint and then a high gloss white.   To make the detail stand out we painted the instead trim with brown paint that matched the dining room. I also added bun foots at the bottom of the cabinet to make it taller and save it from future water damage.

It's so easy to find inspiration on vacation! Especially New Orleans!!!

Love the detail of the iron work! Great color combo!

Before & After pictures of our house!

The front of our home needed a little curb appeal when we bought it. The grass and plants were in needed of TLC! Thanks to my husbands obsession with the lawn, racking leaves, fertilizing  and fixing the sprinkler system we ended up with a green lawn. My Mom's green thumb also helped us pick out different plants and flowers to plant in the front. Hibiscus bushes, s Plumeria tree, Crotons and ground cover plants like grasses and mexican heather

I moved into my first home in May 2012! Moving from a one bedroom condo to a 3 bedroom house meant we needed furniture. Instead buying furniture in retail stores I decided to try thrift stores. I bought this Hutch at the thrift store for $100 and with a little time and patience it became a center piece in my family room.
